1.Disconnect power to the sander!
2.Open the side cover.
3.Turn the motor mount nuts in the direction shown in Figure 30 to loosen or tighten the

Pulley Alignment
Pulley alignment is another important factor in power transmission and belt life. The pulleys should be parallel to each other and in the same plane (coplaner) for optimum performance.
Each pulley can be adjusted by loosening the set screw that secures the pulley to the shaft, sliding the pulley in/out, and retightening the set screw to lock the pulley in place.
To align the pulleys:
1.Disconnect power to the sander!
2.Open the pulley cover.
3.Remove the
4.Place a straightedge across the face of the motor pulley and front drum pulley to check the alignment. The straightedge should sit evenly on the top and bottom part of both pul- leys, as shown in Figure 31.
5.Repeat Step 4 with the straightedge placed against the motor pulley and rear drum pul- ley.
6.Adjust the pulleys as necessary until they are all coplanar with each other.
