(Manual Cleaning)

This HEPA filter removes 99.97% of the 0.3-micron particles. This filter rarely needs to be replaced if the machine is properly used and cleaned.

To clean the HEPA filter:

 

1.DISCONNECT THE MACHINE FROM POWER, put on your respirator, and empty the dust drawer.

2.Unscrew the lock knobs, unlatch the HEPA filter housing, then open the filter housing (Figure 40).

3.Lift the HEPA filter from the filter housing (Figure 41).

—If you are going to reuse the HEPA filter and it is not already marked with an airflow label like the one shown in Figure 42, use a permanent marking pen, and mark the top of the filter with an arrow indicating the direction of air flow.

—If you are installing a new filter, also indi- cate the replacement date.
