Data Backup Time

When both the main battery and the backup battery are completely discharged, data stored in the device will be lost. Immediately after the battery icon indicates the low level or a warning message appears, connect the AC adapter to charge the battery.

▶Data will be kept for approximately five days after the main battery is discharged to such an extent that the device cannot be switched on.

▶The main battery and the backup battery discharge slowly even when they are not used. The batteries will be completely discharged when they are not used for an extended period of time.

▶It is strongly recommended that you save the device’s data on a personal computer or a memory card. For the method of backing up data, see “Backing Up Data” on page 179.

Note: When the device is left with a USB cable or a card connected, the backup time may be reduced. When not using the device, remove peripheral equipment from the device.

Note: If the device is left with the battery discharged for an extended period of time, the battery life may be shortened. Recharge the battery every three months, even not when using the device for a long period of time.
