FOAM AIR FILTER CLEANING
FOAMAIR FILTER
A dirty foam air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing
engine performance. If you operate the generatorin very dusty areas,
clean the foam air filter more frequently than specified in the
Maintenance Schedule.
Clean the foam air filter in warm
soapy water, rinse, and allow to
dry thoroughly, or clean in
nonflammable solvent and
allow to dry.
Dip the foam air filter in clean
engine oil, then squeeze out all
excess oil. The engine will
smoke when started if too much
oil is left in the filter.
Wipe dirt from the air cleaner housing and cover using a moist rag.
Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the air duct thatleads to the
carburetor.
