SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
AIR FILTER CLEANING
A dirty main and outer filters will restrict air flow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance. If you operate the generatorin very
dusty areas, clean the main and outer filtersmore frequently than
specified in the Maintenance Schedule.
Wash the main and outer filters in a solution of household detergent
and warm water,then rinse thoroughly, or wash in non-flammable
or high flash point solvent. Allow the airf ilters todry thoroughly.
Soak the main and outer filters in clean engine oil and squeeze out
the excess oil. The engine will smoke during initialstartup if too
much oil is left inthe air filters.
Wipe dirt fromthe air cleaner case and cover using a moist rag. Be
careful to prevent dirtf romentering the air duct that leads to the
carburetor.
