Initiating or Resuming from Standby

Resume from
■Briefly press the power button, or move (or click any button on) an optional external USB mouse.
■If the display was closed while the notebook was in Standby, open the display.
■Power/standby light turns on.
■Your work returns to the screen.
Using Emergency Shutdown Procedures
If the notebook does not respond to the Windows shutdown procedure (Start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off), try the following emergency shutdown procedures:
■Press and hold down the power button for at least 5 seconds.
■If the notebook remains unresponsive, press Fn+power button.
■If the notebook still remains unresponsive, disconnect the notebook from external power and remove the battery pack.
