The table below shows examples of the maximum number of PoE ports that can be supported by the two 3500yl switch models. One column shows the maximum number of PoE ports at full power (Class 0 – 15.4 watts) and the other column shows the maximum number of PoE ports at typical phone power (8 watts).
For environments needing more PoE power, the HP ProCurve 620 Redundant/External Power Supply can be used. It doubles the available PoE power from 398W to 796W for up to two 3500yl switches. The HP ProCurve 620 also provides redundant system power for up to two 3500yl switches.
