Using the Diskette (Floppy) Drive

Insert the diskette into the drive (select models only) until it locks in place. Insert the diskette with the round metal disk face-down and the arrow on the top pointing into the drive.

You can copy files from or to the diskette.

When you are done, check that the light on the drive is off, indicating that the PC is not writing to the diskette, and then press the Eject button on the PC and remove the diskette.

Using the 6-In-1 Memory Card Reader

The optional 6-In-1 memory card reader is accessible on the front of the PC or located inside the lower front cover of the PC. The card reader has two horizontal card slots that accept six types of memory cards and the IBM Microdrive™ disk drive.

You can place media in one or both of the card slots and access each media independently. Place only one piece of media in a slot at one time.

Each card slot has its own drive letter and icon. When you insert media, the display label may change to the title of the media, if the title is present.
