Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP channel) Support for Linux

Support for FCP channels enables zSeries servers to connect to select Fibre Channel Switches and FCP/SCSI devices under Linux on zSeries. This expanded attachabil- ity provides a larger selection of storage solutions for Linux implementations.

Cryptographic Support for Linux

Linux on zSeries running on standard z990, z900, and z800 engines is capable of exploiting the hardware cryp- tographic feature provided by the PCICA feature (PCI Cryptographic Accelerator). This enables customers implementing e-business applications on Linux on zSeries to utilize this enhanced hardware security.
