Cleaning the Hook Race and Feed Dog

Turn the handwheel to raise the needle, and then unplug the sewing machine.

NOTE:

Do not dismantle the machine other than what is explained on this page.

1Remove the setscrews with the screwdriver supplied with the machine. Remove the needle plate.

2Lift up the bobbin holder and remove it.

3Clean the bobbin holder with a lint brush.

4Clean the feed dog and hook race with the lint brush.

5Clean the hook race with a dry cloth. (You may also use a vacuum cleaner.)

Assemble the hook race

1.Insert the bobbin holder so that the knob fits next to the stopper in the hook race.

2.Insert the bobbin.

3.Reattach the needle plate, aligning the needle plate guide pins with the guide holes on the needle plate and tighten the screw.

After cleaning the machine, make sure the needle and presser foot are attached.
