Playing Back a Tape
You can play back type I tapes.
1 Insert a cassette into the cassette compartment with the exposed part of the tape facing left.
•When the unit is turned on, the and tape operation indicators appear on the display.
To remove the cassette, push 0 on the unit. |

Playback starts (if the unit is in standby, the unit automatically turns on).
To change the tape direction, press 2 3 TAPE.
•Each time you press the button, the tape direction changes as follows:
:Plays the front side.
:Plays the reverse side.

The tape direction indicator (3 or 2) starts flashing rapidly on the display.
To play both sides—Reverse Mode
You can set the deck to play just one side or both sides of a tape once, or both sides continuously.

•Each time you press the button, the reverse mode changes as follows:
: Plays back only one side (front or reverse).
: Plays back the front and reverse sides once. : Plays back both front and reverse sides
continuously.

•You can also play back type II and type IV tapes; however, the sound quality (tone) may not be reproduced properly.
Prohibiting Cassette Ejection
You can prohibit cassette ejection from the unit and can lock the cassette in the cassette
On the unit ONLY:
To prohibit cassette ejection, while holding 7, press . “LOCKED” appears on the display
for a while, and the loaded cassette is locked.
• The loaded discs are also locked. (See page 21.)
If you try to eject a locked cassette, “LOCKED” appears to inform you that the Cassette Lock is in use.
To cancel the prohibition and unlock the cassette, repeat the above procedure.
“UNLOCKED” appears on the display for a while, and the loaded cassette is unlocked.
