Adjusting the Aperture

Applicable to: Manual shooting mode M

The aperture value (F-number) of the lens can be set as follows.

Decrease

The subject appears brighter.

 

The focused range becomes sharper, while the

 

background is blurred to produce a soft image.

Increase

The subject appears darker.

 

Background of image becomes focused as well.

1Set to the Manual shooting mode.

2Set to the aperture adjustment mode.

0Press the [IRIS] button to set to the aperture adjustment mode.

0The current F-number is displayed.

3Set the F-number.

0Operate with the [ADJ.] knob.

0The selected F-number is displayed.

Aperture value

F2.8

4Confirm the F-number.

0Press the [SET] button.

0Doing so exits the adjustment mode and the F-number is displayed.

The open F-number of the aperture varies according to the zoom position.

Wide-angle (W) end: F2.8

Telephoto (T) end: F4.5

Memo :

0When zooming to the Tele end, the aperture value is set according to the zoom and indicated in yellow.

Set the zoom to the wide angle end to enable the smallest F- number to be set.

o Setting aperture to Auto1Press the [IRIS] button several times until the F-number display disappears.
