Cable Box Multi-Brand Remote Control

The VCR's remote control can control these functions on the cable boxes listed below.

Some cable box brands have more than one code. If the cable box will not function with one code, try entering another.

Before you start . . .

●Turn the cable box’s power on using its remote control.

●Set the TV/CABLE/VCR switch on your VCR’s remote control to CABLE.

SET CABLE BOX BRAND CODE

1 Refer to the chart below. While holding down POWER, enter your cable box’s brand code using the NUMBER keys, then press STOP.

●You don’t have to repeat this step until you replace the remote control’s batteries.

TRY OPERATING CABLE BOX

2 Press POWER on the remote to turn off the cable box’s power. If it comes off, try other operations.

●The POWER, CH5° and NUMBER keys on the remote can all be used to operate the cable box. *Depending on the brand, the cable box channel may not change unless you press ENTER after having pressed the NUMBER keys.

●To return the remote to VCR operation, set its TV/ CABLE/VCR switch to VCR.

Child Lock

This feature allows you to avoid unwanted operation and prevent accidental recordings.

1 Turn the VCR's power on.

2Press and hold POWER on the remote control until the Child Lock indicator ("–") appears on the front display panel.

*To cancel Child Lock, press POWER on the remote to turn the VCR on. During timer recording, pressing TIMER also cancels Child Lock.

NOTES:

●When Child Lock is engaged, make sure to keep the remote control out of the reach of children.

●Timer recording can be performed while Child Lock is engaged. The feature remains in effect after the recording is finished.

NOTE:

Depending on the kind of cable box, there may be cases where some or all functions cannot be operated using the remote control.
