Timer Recording
Upto 8 timer recording programs can be made using G-CODE
timerprograming or Express timer programing method as far as a
yearin advance. Remember, the clock must be set before youcan
programthe timer.
NOTES:
Ifall the 8 programs have already been set, “PROGRAM FULL”
appearson the TV screen.
Aftertimer recording is completed, the recorder turnsoff
automatically.
Youcan program the timer recording while a regular recording
isin progress; the menu screens will not be rec orded.
Incase of a power failure after programming, the recorder’s
memorybackup keeps your selections (if the lithium battery is
notexhausted).

G-CODE System Setup

INFORMATION
The G-CODE timer programming system eliminates the need to
inputchannel, date, start and stop time data when setting the
timerrecord function. Simply key in the G-CODE number for the
TVprogramme you wish to record (found in most TV listings) and
therecorder's timer is automatically programmed.
Youhave to set “GUIDE PROG” numbers, whichare assignedto
eachstation for purposes of G-CODE timer programming, for all
thestations stored in your recorder’s memory to get proper results.
BeforeG-CODE setup you must have performed the procedures of
TunerSet and Clock Set.
IMPORTANT
Performthe following procedure after Auto Set Up and/or the
channelsetting steps.
Aftersetting the Guide Program Numbers, channel positions may
beincorrect if you stored or skipped channels. In this case, re-
performGuide Program Number setting.

Guide Program Number Set

AAccessMain Menu screen, then Initial Set screen
PressMENU on the remote control. Press rt to place the
pointernext to “INITIAL SET”, then press OK or e.
BAccessG-CODE Setup screen
Pressrt to place the pointer next to “G-CODE SETUP”, then
pressOK or e.
CInputGuide Prog number
Pressrt or the Number keys to select
theGuide Program number as shown in
theTV listing, thenpress OK or e.
DInputreceiving channel number
Pressrt or the Number keys to select
thenumber of the channel on which the
GuideProgram number’s broadcasts are
received,then press OK or e.
Ifthe satellite broadcast is received on
yourrecorder's auxiliary channel (“L-1”
or“F-1”), select “L-1” or “F-1” for the channel position to which
thesatellite receiver is connected.
Repeatsteps 3and 4as necessary.

PressMENU on the remote control.

G-CODE Timer Programing

The G-CODE numbers are the numbers
nextto the program in most TV listing.
Remember,the clock must be set
beforeyou can program the timer.
Besure to read “G-CODE®”.
Loada cassette with the record safety
tabintact. The recorder turns on, and
thecounter is reset, automatically.
Selectthe appropriate colour system
with“PAL/MESECAM” and “NTSC”
inFunction settings.
APressPROG on the remote contr ol
toaccess the G-CODE screen.
BPressthe appropriate Number keys
toinput the G-CODE number, then press OK.Checktomake
surethe setting is accurateon the G-CODE Program screen.
Ifthe G-CODE Setup screen appears
afterpressing OK,presstheNumber
keys,PR+/–or rt to input the
numberof the channel on which the
broadcastfor the G-CODE number is
receivedon the recorder, then press
OK.
Toset the tape speed, press SP/LP/EP.
Tochange the stop time, press STOP+/–.
Totim er-record dai ly (Monday–Frida y) or weekly serials,
pressDAI LY orWEEKLY.Pressing the button again makes the
“DAILY”or “WEEKLY”display disappear.
Atthe programme check screen...
Whenthe weekly serials are programmed, a day of the week
appears.When the daily serials are programmed, “DAILY”
appears.
Ifyou made a mistake, press &to access the G-CODE screen
again.
Ifan incorrect G-CODE number or the one for a broadcast
alreadyfinished has been inputted, “ERROR” is displayed for
about5 seconds, then the G-CODE screen reappears.
CPressOK or PROG.
If“PROGRAM OVERLAPPED” appears, see “Program
overlapwarning display”.
DPress#. The recorder turns off automatically and “#”is
displayedon the display panel.
NOTE:
Ifthe tape reaches its end during timer recording, the recording
stopsand “#”, “”and“$”on the front display panel blink.
