Connecting up and putting into operation

UHF connection

If your TV set does not have a Scart socket, the connection to the TV set is made via a coaxial cable.

In this case, pull out the coaxial cable from the antenna input of the video re- corder and connect it to the satellite receiver‘s terrestrial antenna input (view of rear panel, 3).

Using an additional coaxial cable, connect-up from the satellite receiver‘s TV socket (view of rear panel, 4) to the video recorder, and from there to the TV set.

Audio connection

If you want to hear the sound via the hi-fi system, connect the audio Cinch sockets (view of rear panel, 6) and the hi-fi system with a Cinch cable.

Decoder connection

You can also connect-up a decoder to the receiver for Pay-TV programmes.

With decoders that require a video signal and supply a switching signal, such as

Premiere decoders, for example, the decoded signal is available at the TV Scart

socket without further adjustment. This decoded signal is not available at the

VCR Scart socket.

In order that the decoded programme may also be recorded via the video recorder,

the signal path must be switched to external.

Note

For setting of “Decoder signal path“ see chapter “Programming TV programmes“

section: “The video menu – Decoder menu“

Important

On connecting decoders, in general set the video signal path for the corresponding

programme slots to “External“.

Also comply with the decoder‘s instructions!

Connect up the decoder to the decoder Scart socket with a Scart cable.

Mains connection

Now connect the receiver to the mains supply using the mains cable supplied for this purpose.
