5C.TROUBLESHOOTING

AUTOMATICELECTRONICDIAGNOSTICS

Thefaceplatehasaself-diagnosticfunctionforthe

electricalsystem(exceptinputpower).Thefaceplate

monitorsthe electronic componentsandcircuitsfor

correctoperation.If amalfunction

occurs,anerrorcodeappearsinthe

faceplatedisplay.

Thechartbelowshowsthe errorcodesthatcould

appear,andthepossibledefectsforeachcode.

Whileanerrorcodeappearsinthedisplay,allface

platebuttonsareinoperable except theSET button.

TheSET buttonremainsoperationalsotheservice

personcanmaketheMANUALADVANCEDIAG-

NOSTICStofurtherisolatethedefect.

FACEPLATEREPLACEMENT:Besurethevalveisinserviceposition(observevalvecycleindicator...see

below) whenreplacingthefaceplate.

If,afterinstallingandprogrammingthereplacementfaceplace,thevalveisnotinserviceposition,dothefol-

lowingtoassurecorrectcycleorientation,ortiming,betweenthefaceplateandvalve.

UsetheMANUALADVANCEprocedures,below.WiththeRECHARGENOWbutton,advancethroughthe

rechargecyclesuntilthevalvestopsinserviceposition,andRECHARGEnolongerflashesinthetimer.

NOTE:Thevalvemotormayautomaticallydrivethroughseveralvalvepositionswhilesearchingforservice.

Usethefollowingprocedurestoadvancesoftener

valvethroughregenerationcyclestocheckopera-

tion.

Removetopcoverto observevalverotation.

DISPLAYMUSTSHOWTIMEANDDAY

1.Press andhold£for3seconds

until 18:88 displays.

2.Press ¢todisplayposition(P)switchopenor

closedindicator.

If thevalveisinservice,fill,brin-

ing,backwashorfastrinse(see

markingsoncamundermotor),the

displaywill show¼(- -),meaning

thepositionswitchisopen.

Whilethevalveisro-

tatingfrom1cycleto

another,thedisplay

will show (- P),mean-

ingthepositionswitch

isclosed.

3.Toadvancevalve,

press ¤eachtime

youwant tomove

intonextcycle.

(Pressing¤while

valveisrotating

hasnoaffect.)

—Pressandhold¤for3secondsto

movesoftenerintofill cycle.Re-

movebrinewellcoverand,usinga

flashlight,observefill waterenter-

ingtank.
