Status Solution
Slide Show does not
run on an external
video device
■Adjust the camera Video Out setting to NTSC or PAL (see
page44 ).
■Make sure the external device settings are correct. (See the
device’s user guide.)
Computer does not
communicate with
the camera
■Turn off the camera, then turn it back on.
■Make sure the batteries are charged and installed correctly (see
page1 ).
■Make sure the KO DAK Ca mera U SB Ca ble, U -8 is c onne cted t o the
camera and the computer (see page46). Then turn on the
camera.

Status Solution
Picture is not clear ■To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter button
halfway. When the framing marks turn green, press the Shutter
button completely down to take the picture.
■Clean the lens (see page59).
■Make sure the camera is not in Macro mode (see page17).
■Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod (especially
in high-zoom settings or in low light).
■Use a larger picture size (see page40).
■If you’re manually adjusting the ISO speed, realize that high ISO
setting may cause grainy pictures.
