Figure 30 shows an example of a network that is responding correctly. The three required network items are listed here:

IP Address (of this server) Subnet Mask

Default Gateway

IPCONFIG /ALL

4.Instead of ipconfig, you can also use ipconfig /all which will report even more information regarding the network.

Figure 31 shows an example of using ipconfig /all. Here, besides the three required items, you can see information about:

DHCP Server Enabled or Disabled and the DHCP Server’s IP Address DNS Server

WINS Server

IP address Lease Obtained from DHCP server and the Expiration

Lack of information, or incorrect information in any of these lines can help the Network Administrator determine where the connectivity is failing.
