Troubleshooting

If...	Try one or more of the following
You cannot take	■ Turn the camera off, then on again.
a picture	■ Press the Shutter button all the way (page 8).
	■ Battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery or insert a new
	one (page 2).
	■ Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
	take another picture.
	■ Transfer pictures to the computer (page 37), delete
	pictures from the camera (page 25), switch image-storage
	locations (page 19), or insert a card with available
	memory (page 7).
Picture orientation is	■ Set the Orientation Sensor (page 21).
not accurate
Flash does not fire	■ Check flash setting, and change as needed (page 14).
Battery life is short	■ Recharge the battery fully or insert a new one (page 2).
Camera displays an	■ Press the Shutter button all the way (page 8).
error code	■ Battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery fully (page 2).
	■ Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
	take another picture.
	■ Transfer pictures to the computer (page 37), delete
	pictures from the camera (page 25), switch image-storage

not communicate with	■ Recharge the battery or insert a new one (page 2).
the camera	■ Make sure USB cable is securely connected on camera and
	computer port (page 37).
	■ Try another USB port on the computer.
	■ Make sure the EasyShare software is installed (page 31).
