Chapter 2. Learning the basics

If your computer is on battery power and you want to conserve battery power, use the integrated GPU. To switch to the integrated GPU:

•Slide the GPU switch to UMA. ( ← )

•A dialog box may appear on the screen to inform you of this change in GPU. Click OK to confirm this change.

Attention:

• Always perform GPU switching under Windows operating system.

Notes:

•The screen might go blank for a few seconds during GPU switch.

•To gain the best quality of video output, switch to discrete GPU before connecting an external display device through HDMI cable.

•Some Direct3D applications running in full-screen mode might not be able to detect the switch in GPU, resulting in a blank screen. Switch GPU before running these applications.
