PrebooteXecutionEnvironment

PrebooteXecutionEnvir onment(PXE)technologymakesyourcomputermoremanageable(itisPXE
2.1-compliant)byenablingittoboot(loadanoperatingsystemoranotherexecutableimage)fromaserver.
YourcomputersupportsthePCfunctionsthatPXErequires.Forexample,withtheappropriateLANcard,
yourcomput ercanbebootedfromthePXEserver.
Note:RemoteProgramLoad(RPL)cannotbeusedwithyourcomputer.

WakeonLAN

AnetworkadministratorcanuseWakeonLANtoturnonacomputerfromamanagementconsole.When
WakeonLANisusedwithnetworkmanagementsoftware,manyfunctions,suchasdatatransfer,software
updates,andFlashupdatesofUEFIBIOS,canbeperformedremotelywithoutremoteattendance.This
updatingcanbedoneafternormalworkinghoursandonweekends,tosavetimeandincreaseproductivity.
Usersarenotinterruptedduringnormalworkinghours,andLANtrafciskeptt oaminimum.Ifacomputeris
turnedonbytheWakeonLANfunction,theNetworkBootsequenceisused.

AssetIDEEPROM

TheAssetIDEEPROMcontainsinformationaboutthesystem,includingitscongurationandtheserial
numbersofkeycomponents.Italsoincludesanumberofblankeldsinwhichyoucanrecordinformation
abouttheendusersinyournetwork.
