Eject request button: Press the eject request button to undock the computer.

2Docking status indicator: This indicator lights red when your computer is docked. It blinks when the eject request button is pressed.

3Eject lever: Use it to lift your computer up from the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3 when you undock the computer.

Attaching the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3

Attention: Before you attach the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3, disconnect the ac power adapter from your computer. The ac power connector will be damaged if it remains connected to the computer during the attachment.

You can hot attach or warm attach the computer to the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3. Hot attachment is attaching the computer to the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3 while the computer is in operating mode; warm attachment is attaching the computer to the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3 while the computer is in sleep mode.

In doing a hot or warm attachment, note the following:

For hot attachment: The docking status indicator should turn on after a few seconds.

For warm attachment: When the computer resumes from sleep mode, the docking status indicator should turn on.

To attach your computer to a ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3, do the following:

1. Ensure that the system lock key of the ThinkPad UltraBase Series 3 is in the unlocked (vertical) position.
