Entering TextSelectinga Character Input Mode
Your phone provides convenientways to enter words, letters,
punctuation, and numbers whenever you are prompted to
enter text(for example, when adding a Contacts entry or
when using SprintPCS Mail and SMS TextMessaging).
To change the character inputmode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text,
press Mode ( ) to change the character inputmode.
2. Selectone of the following options:
䡲Abcto cycle through the alpha characters associated
with the letters on the keypad (see page 38).
䡲T9Wordto enter textusing a predictive text entering
system thatreduces the amountof keys that need to
be pressed while entering a word (see page 36).
䡲123to enter numbers by pressing the numbers on
the keypad (see page 39).
䡲Symbolsto enter symbols (see page 39).
䡲Smileysto enter “emoticons”(see page 39).
䡲PresetMessagesto enter preprogrammed messages
(see page 39).
䡲PresetSuffix to enter preset suffix such as
http://www., https://www., www., .com, .net, .org,
.edu, .wap, //, ","", (), {}, [], <>, <<>>
Tip: When entering text, press the *(Shift) key to change letter
capitalization (Abc > ABC > abc).
