70 Section 2D: Controlling Your Roaming Experience
Roaming on Analog NetworksWhen you roam on analog networks, you will experience a
quality similar to thatprovided by other analog carriers today.
Although some features, such as SprintPCS Vision and
SprintPCS Voice Command, will be unavailable, you can
still make and receive calls and access voicemail. If you are
accustomed to SprintPCS Service, you may notice some of
the following differences when using analog service:
䢇You are more likely to experience static, crosstalk,
fade-out, and dropped calls.
䢇Some features which are standard on the Nationwide
SprintPCS Network, such as call waiting, Sprint PCS Vision,
and directinternational dialing, may be unavailable.
䢇Though callers can leave voicemail messages while you
are roaming, you will notreceive notification until you
return to the Nationwide SprintPCS Network. (See
“Checking for Voicemail Messages While Roaming”on
page 71.)
䢇There are security and privacy risks (eavesdropping and
cloning) thatexist with conventional analog services
today.
䢇Your battery’s charge will deplete more quickly and you
will need to recharge itmore often when you use your
phone for analog roaming.
Note: When usingyour phone in analog mode, the phone may feel warm.
This is normal for analog operation.
