4. Adding detergent

Use detergent according to the laundry soiling and water hardness.

Too little detergent may cause:

ineffective cleaning of laundry; fabrics may become gray and stiff over time.

grease stains on the laundry.

hard water deposits on the heating element.

Too much detergent may cause:

over sudsing with minimal drum movement; poor wash, rinse and spin results.

higher environmental burden.

￿Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer and add detergent.

￿= Detergent for the main wash

￿= Only add detergent (1/4 of the total recommended amount of detergent) to this compartment for the pre-wash.

￿= Fabric softener or liquid starch.

￿Close the detergent dispenser drawer.
