The X-Terra is a high quality elec tronic
instrument, finely engin eered and packaged
in a durable housing. Taking pr oper care
of your X-Terra is common sense.
The X-Terra’s storage temperature is
-4˚F to 149˚F (-20˚C to +65˚C) and the
operating temperatur e is 32˚F to 113˚F
(0˚C to 45˚C). Do not leave the detector
in excessive heat or cold for longer than
necessary. Try to avoid leavin g it in a
closed trunk or in a car s itting in sunlight.
Covering it when not in use w ill help
protect it.
The coil can be submers ed in water
up to 20” (0.5m), yet the co ntrol box is
not waterproof. Although it has been
designed to be weather re sistant, it is
advised to protect the control box in
wet conditions. A protec tive control box

Never allow the detecto r to come into
contact with gasoline or other petroleum
based liquids.
Keep the detector clea n and dry
and avoid getting sand and grit into
the shafts or fasten ings (e.g. yoke,
twistlocks). Do n ot use solvents to
clean the detector. Use a dam p cloth
with mild soap detergent .
