The X-Terra detecto rs are Min elab’s first products
to incorporate V FLEX Technol ogy.
VFLEX uses stat e of the ar t digita l and mixe d-signal
components to e nhance sta ndard sing le freque ncy
technology by r eplacing m ost of th e analogue
circuitry with digital si gnal proce ssing. The small
amount of analo gue circuit ry still employed has
been very car efully de signed and calibrate d to
obtain the out standing s ensitivit y, stabilit y and
repeatability required to match the perform ance
of the processin g in the d igital do main.
This radical d eparture from tradi tional app roaches
to metal detec tor design has been made possi ble
by advances in e lectroni cs that po wer perso nal
digital assista nts, cell (mobile) p hones and
high-fidelity portabl e audio.
