REPLACING A GLASS PANEL

GLASS DOOR INSTALLATION

REPLACING A GLASS PANEL

1.After removing door assembly, place the door assembly face down on a solid flat surface pro- tected by cloth, cardboard, etc.

2.Carefully remove any broken or damaged glass panel. Locate glass spring retainers which keep the glass panels in the upper and lower trim chan- nels. See Figure 28. Each panel of glass is kept in place with four (4) glass spring retainers. If any of the retainers are lost, order them when you order replacement glass panels.

3.To install a glass panel in the trim channels, slide the new glass panel in from the side.

4.Position the glass spring retainers approximately 1¼" in from each corner of the glass panel. See Figure 28.

5.Gently compress (seat) the glass spring retainers between the trim channels and glass. Use chan- nellock pliers to easily seat the glass spring retain- ers. Be careful when seating the spring retainers. Make sure you do not bend the outside edges of trim channels.

6.If you find the doors are not square after you have replaced the glass panels, fold the door together with the pivot and guide pins are on the bottom next to the cloth or cardboard. The hinges are on top. With the door in this position, gently press the trim to line it up with the glass panels. See Figure 29.
