Using Settings
Display/Info FeaturesThe Display/Info menu controls how the keypad
and display appear:
• Wallpaper — controls the wallpaper that
appears on the idl e screen.
• Palette — changes the color scheme of the
display.
•Text Size — sets size of text on the di splay.
•Home Icons — controls whether m ain menu
icons appear on the idle scre en.
• Backlight — controls backlight illumination.
•Clock — contr ols whether the time and date
appear on the idle screen; set s time and date
format; sets year.
• Menu View — controls whether the items on
your main menu and Java application s menu
appear as large icons or a list.
•Large Dialing — sets large digits to ap pear on
the idle screen when you ent er a number.
•Contrast — sets the contras t of the display.
• Language — sets the lang uage that your ph one
displays.
Phone Calls Feature sThe Phone Calls m enu controls how yo ur phone
handles phone calls:
• Set Line — sets phone line 1 as the active line
for outgoing calls .
• Any Key Ans — If this feature is on, you can
answer calls by pres sing any key on the k eypad.
• Auto Redial — sets your phone to automatically
redial calls you m ake when the sys tem is busy.
•Auto Ans — sets your phone to automatically
answer an incomin g call after a speci fied
number of rings. When this feature is on, the
phone answers by c onnecting you to th e caller;
it does not send the call to voice mail, unless
you are out of cov erage or on the line .
• Minute Beep — causes a beep to sound ever y
minute of an active call .
•Call Duration — causes the duration of a call to
appear on the disp lay when the call e nds.
•TTY — See “Making TTY Calls” on page 46.
• Notifications — See “Setti ng Notification
Options” on page 50.
• Java App Control — If you have installed a
Java application that answers phone calls, this
setting lets you turn that application on.
