This feature is us eful when using vo ice mail or
other automated phon e systems that requ ire you to
dial a phone number and then enter an access
number.
To program a pause:
Press and hold * until the letter P appears.
The P represents a 3 -second pause.
If you store 17035551235P1234, when you select
this number and make a call, your phone dials the
first 11 digits, pauses for 3 seconds, then dials the
last 4 digits.
If you want a pause longer than 3 seconds, press
and hold * more than once. Each P re presents a
3-second pause.
To program a wait:
Press and hold * until the letter W appears.
The W means your phone waits before dialing
further.
If you store 17035551235W1234, when you select
this number and make a call, your phone dials the
first 11 digits and then waits. A message appears
asking if you want to send the rest of the digits.
Press A under Yes to dial the last 4 digits.
Tip:You can cre ate pauses and waits while
dialing a number from the keypad. See
“Creating Pauses and Waits While Dialing”
on page 43.
International Numbers
When storing a nu mber that you plan to use for
international calls, use Plus Dialing:
1Press and hold 0 for two seconds. A “0”
appears, then changes to a “+”.
Note:T he network translat es the “+” into the
appropriate intern ational access code
needed to place th e call.
2Enter the country code, city code or area code,
and phone number.

2Scroll to the name or number you want to call.
Tip:To find Contacts entries faster, use the
keypad to enter the first letter of the name.
