The computer does not enter standby/sleep mode automatically.

When your computer is connected to another device, it may not enter standby/sleep mode if the connection is actively in use.

Make sure the standby/sleep time-out is enabled.

The computer does not enter standby/sleep mode immediately.

If the computer is busy performing tasks, it will only enter standby/sleep mode after completing the tasks.

The computer does not resume from standby/sleep mode.

The computer automatically enters standby/sleep mode when the battery pack drops to 3% of being fully discharged. Perform one of the following:

Connect the AC adapter to the computer.

Replace the empty battery pack with a fully charged one.

The computer does not enter sleep mode with the Fn+F10 hot keys.

Make sure the sleep function is specified on the sleep button.

Software Problems

An application program does not work correctly.

Make sure the software is correctly installed.

If an error message appears on the screen, consult the software’s documentation for further information.

If you are sure the operation has stopped, reset the computer. (See “Resetting the Computer” later in this chapter.)

Use “Task Manager” by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del to close the error application.
