BIOS Setup Utility and ML
Applications
BIOS Setup Utility is a program for configuring the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) settings of the computer.
BIOS is a layer of software called firmware that translates instructions from other layers of software into instructions that the computer hardware can understand. The BIOS settings are needed by your computer to identify the types of installed devices and establish special features.
The ML User Application or MLUA is designed for users to configure the parameters of various functions in the notebook. By using these configuration parameters, you can change the default configuration that automatically loads when you turn on the computer.
ML User Application is automatically launched every time you boot your notebook into Windows Operating System . This can be indicated by the ML User Application icon on the taskbar.
Every time you start the ML User Application, the current configuration parameters saved in the Embedded Controller is loaded and displayed in the ML User Application window.
This chapter tells you how to use the BIOS Setup Utility and provides you with some of the basic information related to the MLUA .
