Note: Some phone functions are temporarily unavailable when a USB connection is active.

To have your phone always prompt you to select a USB mode when you connect a USB cable to the phone: Press s> u Settings > Connections > USB Settings

>Always Ask. This shortcut lets you set the USB mode on the fly (without using the menu system) when you insert a USB cable.

To use Windows™ Media Player 11 to sync music files from a computer to your phone: Press s> u Settings

>Connections > USB Settings > Media Sync/PlayFromDevice, then connect your phone to the computer. For more information, see page 49.

To manually transfer pictures, videos and music between your computer and phone (phone memory or installed memory card): Press s> u Settings

>Connections > USB Settings > Memory Card, then connect your phone to the computer. For more information about manually transferring music files, see page 55.

To sync picture files between your phone and a

computer: Press s> u Settings > Connections

>USB Settings > Image Synchronisation, then connect your phone to the computer.

To use your phone as a modem: Press s> u Settings

>Connections > USB Settings > Modem, then connect your phone to the computer.

To sync contact lists and calendar entries between your phone and computer: Connect your phone to the computer, then open the optional Motorola Phone Tools application on the computer. The Phone Tools software automatically switches your phone to the correct USB mode to sync your files. See the Phone Tools user's guide for more information.

Tip: You can also use Motorola Phone Tools to transfer and sync music files from the computer to your phone.
