LOCATING FIREPLACE

!WARNING

Due to high temperatures, this electric fi replace should be located out of traffi c. Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the front of the fi replace.

Never locate this electric fi replace where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

NOTICE

Minimum clearance of 1" on all sides, back and top must be maintained at all times. Illustrations throughout these instructions refl ect typical installations and are for design purposes only. Actual installations may vary slightly due to individual preferences.

CAUTION

Wear safety gloves and safety glasses for protection during installation and maintenance.

!WARNING

To prevent contact with sagging or loose insulation, the electric fireplace must not be installed against vapor barrier or exposed insulation. Localized overheating could occur and a fi re could result

Figure 2 illustrates a variety of ways the fi replace may be located in a room. The fi replace may be installed directly on the fl oor (uncarpeted), or raised on a hearth.

UNPACKING AND TESTING FIREPLACE

Carefully remove the unit from the box. Prior to installing the fi replace, test to make sure the unit operates properly by plugging the power supply cord into a conveniently located 120 Volt grounded outlet.

GROUNDING FIREPLACE

This fi replace is for use on 120 Volts. The cord has a plug as shown in (A) of Figure 1 given below. An adapter as shown in (C) is available for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adapter must be con- nected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.

To disconnect fi replace, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
