BURNER- The burner is made from heavy wall 304 stainless steel, but due to the extreme heat and corrosive environment, surface
corrosionwill occur. Usea brass wire brush to remove surface corrosion. Clean any blocked portsusing an opened paper clip. Do not
enlargethe burner ports. Spidersand insects are attracted to the smell of propane and natural gas. Theburner is equipped with an
insectscreen on the air shutter, which will reduce the likelihood of insects building nests inside
theburner, but does not entirely eliminate the problem. Thenest or web will cause the burner
toburn with a soft yellow or orange flame or cause a fire (flashback) at the air shutter
underneaththe control panel. Toclean the inside of the burner, it must be removed from the
gasgrill. Removethe 2 screws located above the burner to the left and right of the centre of
theburner. Liftback of burner upwards to remove. Usea flexible venturi tube cleaning brush
toclean out the inside of the burner. Shakeany loose debris out of the burner, through the gas
inlet. Ensure that the insect screen is clean, tight, and free of any lint or other debris. Check
alsothat the valve orifices are clean. Donot enlarge the orifices. Re-installthe burner. Check
thatthe valve enters the burner when installing. Replaceburner cover and mounting screws to
completeinstallation.
ALUMINUMCASTINGS - Clean castings periodically with warm soapy water. Aluminumwill not rust, but due to high temperatures and
weathering, oxidation can occur on aluminum surfaces. Thiswill appear as white spots on the castings. Torefinishthe castings, clean
themand sand lightly with fine sandpaper. Wipesurface to remove any residue, and paint with high temperature barbecue paint.
Protectsurrounding areas from over-spray. Followcuring directions found on the can.
TROUBLESHOOTINGMAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
DARKBLUE

BURNER
BURNERPORT
Turnoff the gas at the source and disconnect unit before servicing. Maintenance should only be done when the grill is cool,
toavoid the possibility of burns. A leak test must be performed annually, and whenever any component of the gas train is
replaced.
COMBUSTIONAIR ADJUSTMENT - (This must be done by a qualified gas installer.) Theair shutter is factory set and should not
haveto be adjusted under normal conditions. However, some extreme field conditions may exist that require adjustment. Whenthe air
shutteris adjusted correctly, the flames will be dark blue with light blue tips, and occasional yellow tips.
YELLOWTIPPING
Ifthe burner is getting too little air, the flames will be lazy yellow, and possibly produce soot. Ifthe burner is getting too much air,the
flameswill be lifting erratically from the burner and may cause difficulties when lighting.
HOSE- Check for abrasion, melting, cuts and cracks. Ifany of these conditions exist, do not use gas grill. Havepart replaced by your
gasgrill dealer, or qualified gas installer.

Problem PossibleCauses Solution

Lowheat / Low flame when
valveturned to high. Forpropane - improper lighting
procedure. Ensurelighting procedure is followed carefully. Allgas grill
valvesmust be in the off position when the tank valve is turned
on. Turn tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize. See
lightinginstructions.
Fornatural gas - undersized
supplyline. Pipemust be sized according to installation code.
Forboth gases - improper
preheating. Pre-heatgrill with main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.
