5 BASIC OPERATION 5.1 Channel selection
5.1.1 Channel 16
Channel 16 (the distress and hailing channel) is used for establishing
initial contact with other stations and for emergency communications.
Channel 16 is automatically monitored during both dual-watch.
Press or / to select Channel 16, LCD will be displayed
as below:

5.1.2 Specific channels
UK M1 and M2 channels
These appear between channels 88 and 01 when the U.K. or other channel
group / Country is selected. The LCD will show UK M at top with C1 or C2 on
main screen.

5.1.3 Weather channels for USA and Canada
These appear between channels 88 and 01 when the USA or Canada
channel group is selected. The LCD will show USA WX or CAN WX at
top.
