In mode, the camera automatically sets shut- ter speed and aperture when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. Before shooting, check the shutter-speed and aperture indicators in the viewfinder. If the photo would be overexposed

at current settings, will be displayed; use an optional Neutral Density (ND) filter. If the photo would be underexposed, the built-in Speedlight will pop up automatically, and fire when the pho- tograph is taken.

The Built-in Speedlight

If additional lighting is required for correct exposure in , , , andmodes, the built-in Speedlight will pop up automatically when the shutter-release is pressed halfway ( 94). When the built-in Speedlight is raised, photographs can only be taken when the flash-ready indicator is displayed. If the flash-ready indicator is not displayed, remove your finger briefly from the shutter- release button and try again.
