Using the Flash
BShooting When Lighting is Poor and When the Flash is Disabled (W)•Use of a tripod is recommended to stabilize the camera during shooting and avoid the effects of camera shake. When the camera is stabilized with a tripod, set Vibration reduction (A160) to Off in the setup menu (A152).
•The Eindicator is displayed when the camera automatically increases sensitivity. Pictures taken when Eis displayed may be slightly mottled.
•When shooting at slow shutter speeds in dark location, the noise reduction function may operate. When the noise reduction function operates, it may take more time to save images.

The flash indicator shows the flash status when the
•On: Flash will fire when picture is shot.
•Blinks: Flash is charging. Wait a few seconds and try again.
•Off: Flash will not fire when picture is shot.
CThe Flash Mode SettingThe default flash mode setting varies with shooting mode.
•A(auto) mode: Uauto flash.
•x(scene auto selector): Uauto flash. The camera sets the flash mode according to the scene mode that it has automatically determined.
•SCENE: Varies depending on the scene (A45 to 52).
•F(smart portrait): Uauto flash (when blink proof is Off ), fixed to Wflash off (when blink proof is On) (A58).
•s(subject tracking): Uauto flash.
•d(sport continuous): Fixed to Wflash off.
•A, B, C, D: Uauto flash.
The flash cannot be used simultaneously with certain functions. See "Functions that Cannot be Applied Simultaneously" (A96) for more information.
In the following situations, the setting for flash mode is stored in the camera's memory even after the camera is turned off.
