The Shooting Menu (for A (Auto) Mode)

Autofocus Mode

On the A(auto) mode shooting screen Mdbutton MAutofocus mode

Choose how the camera focuses.

	Option	Description
	ASingle AF	The camera focuses when the shutter-release button is
	(default setting)	pressed halfway.

		The camera focuses continuously until the shutter-release
	BFull-time AF	button is pressed halfway. Use with moving subjects. The
	BFull-time AF	sound of lens drive movement will be heard while the camera
		sound of lens drive movement will be heard while the camera
		focuses.

Autofocus mode for movie recording can be set with Autofocus mode (E 48) in the movie menu (E 47).
