Varying the image brightness (Exposure compensation)
This function allows you to make fine changes to the automatic exposure setting. In some situations, you may get better results when the exposure that the camera sets is compensated (adjusted) manually. You can adjust the brightness in the range of ±2.0 in 0.5 steps.
Often white subjects (such as snow) will turn out darker than their natural colors. Adjusting towards [ + ] makes these subjects closer to their real shades. For the same reason, adjust towards [ - ] when shooting black subjects.
