Ejecting SmartMedia cards

Set the POWER/LOCK switch toOFF.

The display disappears.

Raise the SmartMedia ejectionswitch.

The SmartMedia ejection switch will not work if the
POWER/LOCK switch is set to ON.

Inserting and Ejecting SmartMedia cards

Attention

SmartMedia cards are precision devices. Never
force the cards when inserting them, or subject
them to sharp blows.
Avoid handling and storing SmartMedia cards
in a hot, damp environment.
Do not touch the contact area (gold electrodes)
of the SmartMedia card with bare hands.
If a SmartMedia card gets dirty, wipe it with a soft,
dry cloth.
SmartMedia cards may be vulnerable to
electrostatic data corruption. When carrying a
SmartMedia card, put it in its case.
Remember to back up data from SmartMedia cards
to a PC or other storage medium from time to time
( P.40-41).
Corrupted, lost, or erased data cannot be
restored.
