Digital recording

In digital recording, an optical digital cable is used to input signals from the recording source.

About digital recording

The MD-101A is equipped with a sampling frequency converter, which enables you to record digital signals (PCM 32kHz and 48kHz) transmitted from external digital devices (DAT, satelite broadcast, etc.), as well as CDs (PCM 44.1kHz).

1 Press the STANDBY/ON button.

The STANDBY indicator goes out.

2 Load a recordable MD.

Refer to Step 2 on page 24.

3 Press the INPUT button repeatedly until “Digital In 1” or “Digital In 2” appears.

Digital input source 1 or 2 is now selected.

Note

Make sure the supplied optical cable is connected to the correct digital input terminal. If you attempt to perform digital recording using a digital input terminal that is not connected, “D.In Unlock” will appear.

Use the DIGITAL INPUT 1 digital input terminal if you connect the C-701A CD player to this MD recorder.

Operations

4 Select a recording mode.

Refer to Step 4 on page 22.

5 Play the recording source.

If the C-701A CD player is connected to the system, start playing the CD player.
