Using the Level Sync function

The Level Sync function enables you to automatically number the tracks by detecting the rise of the signal level at the beginning of each track. (The Level Sync function is turned on by the default setting.)

To disable the auto numbering (Level Sync)function...

Follow the steps below during recording or stand-by mode:

1 Press the EDIT/NO button, then turn the MULTI JOG knob until “Level Sync?” appears.

3 Press the MULTI JOG knob.

The display indicates “Level Sync Off” and the tracks being recorded will not be numbered.

To cancel this setting, press the EDIT/NO button.

To enable the auto numbering (Level Sync)

function...

Follow the steps described above, except that “OFF ON” appears in Step 2 and “Level Sync On” appears in Step 3 when you press the MULTI JOG knob. The tracks being recorded will be numbered automatically.

2 Press the MULTI JOG knob.

The display indicates the current setting. (In this example, “On OFF” appears, which means “Do you want to change from ‘ON’ to ‘OFF’?”)

Using the Recording Auto Stopfunction...

The Recording Auto Stop function automatically stops recording about one minute after the recording source input (such as a midnight radio show) stops, as long as the Level Sync function is on.

Flashing

TOC flashes, then recording stops.

This function is useful if you do not wish to record after the source input stops. The function is disabled if the Level Sync function is off.

Note

If you are recording the tracks from a CD that has intervals greater than one minute, the Recording Auto Stop function automatically stops recording. To continue recording such a CD, turn the Level Sync off.

This function is disabled during the CD dubbing operation.
