Ciertas cámaras de red Panasonic como la BL-C10 y la BL-C30 incluyen un sensor piroeléctrico infrarrojo. Este sensor detecta las diferencias de temperatura en base a los rayos infrarrojos que el cuerpo humano o los animales emiten naturalmente. (En un ambiente de 20 °C, el sensor puede detectar diferencias de temperatura a una distancia máxima de 5 m de la cámara.) El alcance de detección del sensor se reduce al aumentar la temperatura ambiental dentro de su alcance. Como resultado, es posible que haya ocasiones en que el sensor no detecte correctamente en ambientes con temperaturas muy altas, como durante el verano. (En un ambiente de 35 °C, el sensor puede detectar diferencias de temperatura a una distancia de 0,5 a 1,5 m de la cámara.) Además, la presencia de luz solar y el uso de aires acondicionados o calentadores pueden hacer que el alcance efectivo del sensor se reduzca o provoque detecciones incorrectas. Recomendamos que tome precauciones para evitar estos problemas al colocar la cámara.
