Recording Menu Settings

[REC] mode menu (Refer to P81 for the setting method.)

Be sure of the following points when the AF assist lamp is in use.

Do not look into the AF assist lamp.

Detach the lens hood.

Do not cover the AF assist lamp with your fingers when taking a picture.

The battery may be consumed faster than usual when using the AF assist lamp.

In auto mode [ ], the [AF ASSIST LAMP] setting is fixed to [ON].

You cannot use the AF assist lamp in [SCENERY] (P73), [NIGHT SCENERY] (P74), [FIREWORKS] (P77) and [PANNING] (P80) in scene mode.

When you do not want to use the AF assist lamp (e.g. when you take a picture of a subject in a dark place), set the [AF ASSIST LAMP] to [OFF]. In this case, it becomes difficult to focus on the subject.

The AF area is set only to a point on the center of the screen when the AF assist lamp is turned on.

A vignetting effect may appear on the circumference of the AF assist lamp because the AF assist lamp may be obscured by the lens, however, this does not cause a problem with the performance of the camera.

Digital Zoom [D.ZOOM]

SCN1 SCN2

In the [REC] menu (P81), setting [D.ZOOM] to [2k] or [4k] allows you to magnify a subject up to a maximum of 48 times. (Except when using extended optical zoom.)

Refer to P34 for details.
