Basic
When the camera identi fies the optimum scene, the icon of the scene co ncerned is
displayed in blue fo r 2 seconds, after which its color changes to the usual red.
[¦] is set if none of the scenes are applic able, and the standard setting s ar e set.
When [ ], [ ] or [ ] is selected, the camera automatically det ects a person’s face, and it
will adjust the focus and exposure. (Face detection)
If a tripod is used, for ins tance, and the camera has judged that camera shak e is minimal when
the Scene Mode has been identified as [ ], the shutter speed will be set to a maximum of
8 seconds. Take care not to move the camera while taking pictures.
When [FACERECOG.] is set to [ON], an d th e fa ce si mi lar to the registered fa ce is detected, [R]
is displayed in the top right of [ ], [ ] and [ ].
¢When [FACE RECOG.] is set to [ ON], [ ] will be displayed for birthdays of register ed faces
already set only when the face of a pe rs on 3 years old or younger is detec t ed.
It is possible to set the focus to the specified subject. Focus wil l keep following the subject
automatically even if it moves.
1Press 3.
[ ] is displayed in the upper left of the screen.
AF Tracking frame is displayed in the cen ter of the
screen.
Press 3 again to cancel.
2Bring the subjec t to the AF tracki ng frame, and
press 4 to lock the subject.
AF tracking frame will turn yellow.
An optimum scene for the specified subject will be
chosen.
Press 3 to cancel.
