Caution for Timer recording

Timer recording automatically starts at the set time.

Timer recording can be started whether the unit is turned on or off. When the unit is turned off, the sound and the video cannot be outputted to the TV.

You can enter up to 16 programs up to a month in advance.

Preparation

Select the unit viewing channel (or the AV input) on the TV.

Check that the clock is set to the correct time. If it has not been set, refer to page 46.

Insert a video cassette with an intact erasure prevention tab. (l 48)

Press [VHS].

Using VCR Plus_ system

Entering the PlusCode numbers is an easy way of timer recording. You can find these codes in TV listings in newspapers and magazines.

When connecting a cable TV box or satellite receiver, the VCR Plusi system does not work. Program the timer recording manually (l right).

” and “1” flashes when the unit cannot perform timer recording (e.g., video cassette with no prevention tab or no video casette in the cassette compartment).

The actual time recorded may be longer than the program itself when TV programs are recorded using VCR Plus_ system.

If you set “DST” (Daylight Saving Time) to “ON” when manually setting the clock (l 46), timer recording may not work when summer switches to winter and vice versa.

To stop recording while a program is working

Press [, STOP], then [ENTER] within 5 seconds.

You can also press and hold [] on the main unit for more than 3 seconds to stop recording.
