While having an intercom call, the intercom
call stops and the unit starts to ring.
LSomeone is calling you from outside.
Press {TALK}, {SP-PHONE} or {DIGITAL
SP-PHONE} to answer the outside call.
Cordless handset
The handset does not work.
LMake sure that the battery is installed
correctly (page 107).
LCharge the battery fully (page 21).
LClean the charge contacts and charge again
(page 21).
The handset does not ring.
LThe ringer volume is set to off. Adjust it
(page 29).
The display shows the following and an
alarm tone sounds when I press {TALK },
{CLEAR}, {HOLD}, {INTERCOM}, {FLASH}
or {CALL WAIT/PLAYBACK}.
No link to base
Place on cradle
and try again.
LThe handset is too far from the base unit.
Move closer and try again.
LPlace the handset on the base unit and try
again.
LThe power cord is disconnected. Plug in the
power cord.
Static, sound cuts in/out, fades. Interference
from other electrical units.
LLocate the handset and the base unit away
from other electrical appliances.
LMove closer to the base unit.
LPress {<} on the handset to select a clearer
channel.
LRaise the base unit antenna.
The handset stops working while being used.
LPlace the handset on the base unit, and
disconnect the power cord to reset the unit.
Connect the power cord, and try again.
I cannot store a name and telephone number
in the navigator directory.
LYou cannot store a name and number while
the unit is in the talk or intercom mode.
LDo not pause for over 60 seconds while
storing.
While storing a name and telephone number
in the navigator directory, the handset starts
to ring.
LTo answer a call, press {TALK} or {SP-
PHONE}. The program will be canceled.
Store the name and number again.
I cannot redial by pressing {REDIAL}.
LIf the last number dialed was more than 32
digits long, the number will not be redialed.
The handset beeps intermittently and/or the
following is displayed.

I cannot receive documents by pressing *#9
on the handset.
LYou must set the remote fax activation to on
(feature #41, page90) beforehand.
LPress *#9 firmly. A single beep will be
heard.
LThe memory is full of received documents
due to a lack of recording paper or a
recording paper jam. Install paper or clear the
jammed paper.
The handset display is blank.
LCharge the battery fully (page 21).
The handset display exits the Caller ID List
while viewing the caller information.
LDo not pause for over 60 seconds while
searching.
