Using the base unit

1{SP-PHONE}
2Speak into the MIC.
3When you finish talking, press {SP-
PHONE}.
Adjusting the ringer volume
Press {^} or {V} repeatedly to select the
desired volume when in standby mode.
LTo turn the ringer off, press and hold {V}
until the unit beeps 2 times.
Setting the ringer tone
There are 3 tones.
1Press {^} or {V}.
2Within 10 seconds, press {<} or {>}
repeatedly to select the desired tone.
Useful features during a call
HOLD button
This feature allows you to put an outside
call on hold.
1Press {HOLD} during an outside call.
LTo transfer the call to another
extension, continue from step 2 on
page 44, “Transferring calls,
conference calls”.
2Press {HOLD} again.
LTo release the hold, press {C}.
LThe base unit user can take the call
by pressing {SP-PHONE}.
LAnother handset user can take the
call by pressing {C}.
Press {HOLD} during an outside call.
LTo release the hold, press {SP-
PHONE}.
LHandset users can take the call by
pressing{C}.
Note for handset and base unit:
LIf another phone is connected on the
same line (page 11), you can also take
the call by lifting its handset.
LIf a call is kept on hold for more than 6
minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound.
After 4 additional minutes on hold, the
call is disconnected.
