Making/answering calls
Problem Cause/solution
Noise is heard, sound cuts in
and out.
RYou are using the phone in an area with high electrical
interference. Move to a location away from sources of
interference.
RThe GSM network signal is weak. Check the current
status and move to a new location until more bars are
visible (page 12).
The phone does not ring. RThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume
(page 15).
RNight mode is on. Turn it off (page 31).
I cannot make a call. RThe phone is not in a GSM network service coverage
area. Check the current status and move to a new
location until more bars are visible (page 12).
ROutgoing calls are barred. Deactivate the outgoing call
bar settings (page 28).
RYour call is withheld. Change the show my ID setting to a
setting other than Off (page 26).
RThe key lock is on. Unlock it (page 14).
RFixed dialling feature is enabled (page 23). Disable it.
I cannot receive a call. RThe phone is not in a GSM network service coverage
area. Check the current status and move to a new
location until more bars are visible (page 12).
RIncoming calls are barred. Deactivate the incoming call
bar settings (page 28).
RA call matching the criteria for incoming restriction is
being received (page 26). Turn the incoming restriction
feature off.
